The outreach project ENERGY TRANSFERS is an Art meets Science project and seeks to convey the importance and complexity of the fundamental research in the Collaborative Research Center TRR 181 „Energy transfers in Atmosphere and Ocean“ to the public, using an innovative approach by including artists and art students. By starting cooperation between scientists and artists, we wish to not only communicate and presenting our science to the public in a new way but also to discover new thought patterns regarding the research contents.

A first Kick-off meeting in the second phase of the TRR 181 was held in March 2021, where an overall project plan was presented and discussed by all interested participants, who introduced themselves and their work. One of the resulting ideas of the Kick-off meeting was to have follow-up meetings of the collaborations between individual artists and members of the TRR 181. This way, the ideas of the specific projects and how to implement them can be further developed.
